looked "super" straight when handling jack's gun....
real quick on egypt, its incredible, i lived there and never ever would i have imagined this happening. When egypt won the african cup in 2006 (they were also the host country,) i was there, and the streets were crazy...it was awesome, and that was like the only thing i saw that caused mass movements in the country, soccer. My dad always said that the people of egypt need to do this, stand up for their rights and he predicted it within 10 years. Its here now.
Its important for people to realize this is not a religious movement, i checked out some cnn and fox news reports that continue to play up the muslim brother hood's role in this, its not about religion, not to mention its a shame people report based on their name, without any information on them..to be fair i did hear some correspondents say it correctly, such as the muslim brotherhood who didn't take part in any of this until friday are a nonviolent, and made up of educated people group. I don't know much more about them than most and am not for or against them...but i'm for change, and pray it will be as non violent as possible.
as far as family, a lot of people are there, i know of family and friends who 100 percent would take part in this but don't have many direct accounts...i do have at least on government official family member (cultural stuff) and a cousin in the military (pretty high up engineer)...i also think the protests are truly peaceful by a majority of people. I know of people who are mixed, not for mubarek, but its hard for them to witness their country in turmoil...something they think happens only in lesser nations i suppose. Also i do have relatives who are old enough to remember the last revolution when the king was ousted (however now a days everyone misses those days and would love the king to be back, but i think that depends more on your economic status,) would be interested in hearing their opinions.
I am honestly shocked people have made this kind of impact, i thought it would be put down with quick...i was there for a couple of small protests that went wrong really fast...and i have dealt with the plain clothes police (not much of a secret) on a few occasions but i'll save those stories for another time. Ultimately its very clear to me that mubarak is making ALL the wrong decisions, and the conspiracy theorist in me really is going wild.
Mubarak's government has stopped working for the masses a while back, the people of egypt have a right to get rid of him, and mass movement protests are their only weapon. These are men women and children.
you can see my facebook for a couple albums shared by a friend who is there.
i just ask of you when you hear people spout off about this being a new extremist group taking over and a problem for The USA, respectfully ask them to check the facts, and have them cite their sources...its a complicated matter, and please make any opinions only based on fact.
