the death of music is upon us, i showed this to vaiana last night. Wolfram Tones is a website that creates music based on script and algorithms, similar to my studies with architecture. Wolfram guest lectured at my school last week and showed us all the crazy shit he's working with based on parametric algorithms, scripting, etc. something huge that he actually completed on the same day of the lecture that no one will ever hear about is the confirmation by a 40 page proof on his idea of the simplest universal turing machine. wicked.
(becuase this blog is all about making each other feel stupid and fighting about syntax i will say that i know this isn't really the death of music, it's a facetious comment)
so i will leave you with this thought: "if the length of the process is not known in advance, then 'trying' it may not be decisive, because if the process does go on forever — then at no time will we ever be sure of the answer" (Minsky 1967)
